Animal specimens exhibition to open in Yunnan Provincial Museum on Jul. 15

“My Wild Animal Friends, Special Exhibition of Animal Specimens” will be opened on Jul. 15 in Hall 5, Yunnan Provincial Museum. More than 80 specimens including reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates will be displayed, among which the number of national first-class and second-class protected animals accounts for more than 60%, showing a colorful and vivid world of wildlife, as well as the achievements of wildlife protection in China.

The exhibition, sponsored by Yunnan Provincial Museum and Beijing Museum of Natural History, will last until Sep. 10. China has complex climate conditions and a diverse natural environment, providing good living conditions for wild animals, and is the country with the largest species of wild animals in the world. According to statistics, there are as many as hundreds of thousands of wild animals in China. These rich animal species play a very important role in maintaining the ecological balance of nature.

The exhibition aims to increase public awareness of protecting animals and the environment, and preserving biological diversity.
