Soldier killed in exchange of fire with terrorists in NW Pakistan

A soldier was killed when an exchange of fire took place between security forces and terrorists in Datta Khel area in North Waziristan district of Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, an army statement said on Sunday.

"The military personnel fought bravely and effectively engaged the terrorists' location," the military's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in the statement.

During an intense exchange of fire, a 25-years-old soldier lost his life, the statement added.

Area clearance was being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area, according to the ISPR.
