Yunnan bacterial strains sent to space with Shenzhou-14 spaceship

On June 5, the Shenzhou-14 spaceship with three Chinese astronauts onboard was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. It was successfully sent to space, marking a new step in China’s space exploration. 28 bacterial strains from Dali, Southwest China’s Yunnan Province, were also carried on the Shenzhou-14 spaceship to embark on a 6-month space breeding journey. Lactobacillus rhamnosus G025-A-09 and lactobacillus paracasei H-L13 were extracted from the milk fan, a Dali delicacy, and cultivated by the Yunnan Dairy researchers as national patent strains.
