Kunming Customs said on June 2 that since the opening of China-Laos Railway six months ago, Kunming Customs has supervised and examined 1,288 inbound and outbound international cargo trains, with a total volume of 604,000 tons and a value of 6.47 billion yuan.
At Mohan Railway Port in Yunnan Province, an international cargo loaded with mineral products and other goods slowly went through the operation area. The newly put into use of H986 railway large container inspection equipment began to work. When the train was running, it could scan containers automatically.
According to the staff of Mengla Customs Railway Port, this kind of “noninvasive” high-tech equipment only took 1-2 minutes for scanning one train. It worked quickly and precisely, significantly improved the supervision efficiency of customs, and increased the speed of clearance.
Until now the goods from Guangdong, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Chongqing, Shanghai and other 21 provinces and cities have been transported to Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore and other countries along Belt and Road Initiative through China-Laos Railway transportation network. The import and export goods cover more than 2,000 kinds, such as agricultural food products, daily general merchandise, mechanical and electrical products and mineral products. The role of China-Laos Railway as "golden channel" for international logistics has become increasingly obvious.
