The whole year’s work depends on a good start in spring. At present, the spring farming preparation work in Fumin County is being carried out orderly.

At the rice planting cooperative in Kuanzhuang Town, the staff were busy distributing high-quality rice seeds and explaining cultivation techniques to villagers. “I got 13 kilograms of seeds. The staff of cooperative trains us in cultivation techniques every year, so the yield is appreciable.” Said Jiao Youli, a villager of Duoyijia Village.

Water bamboo shoots growing in Reshui Village were gratifying, and leaves had grown up to more than 1 meter high. Li Zhenghua, a villager who was working in the fields, said that the 17 mu (about 11 square kilometers) of water bamboo shoot planted by her family will be available on the market in another month. Kuanzhuang town is known as the “hometown of the water bamboo shoot”. Water bamboo shoots harvest from March to October and are sold to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other places. Now the planting area of water bamboo shoot in the town is about 2850 mu (about 1900 square kilometers), with an annual output value of nearly 30 million yuan.

The villagers of Qingping Village were busy pruning 1000 mu (about 67 square kilometers) of peach trees, looking forward to a bountiful harvest this year.
