Photographers found over 100 common mergansers flying across the sky above Fuxian Lake in Chengjiang City, Yunnan Province.
For winter, it is not rare to see common mergansers stopped over Eastern China and the Yangtze River. They are the biggest Chinese mergansers, inhabiting various lakes, mountain streams, and lowlands with a large population.
In recent years, Chengjiang authorities made a great effort to restore the Fuxian Lake ecosystem and construct the wetland lakeside zone. The water quality of Fuxian Lake remained Level I. The clear water and excellent lake environment attracted many common mergansers.
