In pics: Yunnan’s Yuanyang: the Hani Rice Terraces in winter

After sowing in spring, cultivation in Summer, harvest in Autumn, the Yuanyang Hani Rice Terraces in SW China's Yunnan finally come to their leisure days.

Terrace fields in winter is tranquil and now it’s the best season to view. Standing on the hillside and looking ahead, sparkling terrace fields are dotted with colourful duckweed. From early morning to nightfall, the same fields are changing colors all the time.

In the morning, when you lazily wake up and look out of the window, you will see the fairy-tale terrace embraced by soft mist. A beautiful scenery like this makes you want to take up your camera to capture the gorgeous moment.

At midday, when you satisfy yourself with local culinary specialties at the dinner table, a light breeze gently caresses your cheek and a ray of sunshine lightly taps your hand. The cozy feeling reminds you of the terrace fields in the distance. They are showering under the warm sunlight. See, there are some ducks over there! Some of them are swimming happily in the water while others are sitting along the field and basking in the sunshine. Seeing this peaceful scene, you quickly run into the fields, play with fish and ducks, spend your leisure time in this lazy afternoon.

At dusk, the sun hide itself behind the mountains, leave a golden light over the fields. Standing on the viewing platform,  You can feel all the splendor and magnificence of the great nature at the moment.

It’s a epic legendary of agriculture civilization, a beautiful picture of harmonious co-existence between human and nature.
