Stay-at-home order lifted in Myanmar's 28 more townships

Myanmar's Ministry of Health on Wednesday lifted a stay-at-home order in 28 more townships after fewer COVID-19 cases were reported recently in the areas.
According to the ministry's announcement, the stay-at-home order will be removed in the townships of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Shan states, Magway and Mandalay regions starting Thursday.
Myanmar reported 629 new COVID-19 cases with eight more deaths in the past 24 hours, the ministry's figures said on Wednesday.
The number of COVID-19 infections has risen to 519,731 while its death toll has increased to 19,049 on Wednesday.
A total of 493,399 patients have been discharged from hospitals and over 5.4 million samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far.
As of Tuesday, over 11 million people had been fully vaccinated and over 4.7 million people have received the first jab of COVID-19 vaccines, the ministry's data showed.
Myanmar detected its first two COVID-19 cases on March 23 last year.
