The Daile lantern fair held in Xishuangbanna's Gaozhuang Night Market was open to the public recently and will last until May 10, 2021. More than 30 groups of lanterns featured with Dai cultural elements, such as bamboo houses, water lamps, peacocks and elephants, light up the banks of Langcang River.
The lantern show is the first of its kind in China, covering an area of 26,000 square meters, including Binjiang Avenue, Luomo Island and Peacock Theater.
Many kinds of interactive lanterns are favored by tourists. They can play the drum to “light up” the giant lights, walk among hundreds of small and colorful lights, and take a moonlight silhouette in front of the moon light. In addition, 18 meters long “big fish”, 20 meters long “dragon”, 25 meters long dragon boat shand 28 meters high white tower also attracted many tourists to take photos.
