The third Lancang-Mekong International Film Week kicked off on October 31. Film experts,  producers, creators, actors and actresses from all over China and principals of film and television industry in Yunnan gathered in Kunming. 

This film week had a theme of international view of nature and humanity films because the 15th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity will be held in Kunming soon. The Film Cooperation Forum among Lancang-Mecong Counties and Yunnan Film Industry Development Roundtable Forum had been set up in this event. More than 21 outstanding films from counties like China, Thailand, Myanmar, and Vietnam will be shown free of charge in three theaters of Kunming. Experts also conducted professional discussions on the upcoming production of film and television works in Yunnan. 

This film week was a great exchange event based on Yunnan’s unique natural geographical resources, ethnic cultural resources and international geographical advantages. It was a good chance for Yunnan to actively implement the Belt and Road Initiative and build itself into a radiation center facing South and Southeast Asia. It could also help enhance the cultural integration among lancang-Mekong countries, demonstrate the cultural commonalities between Yunnan and South and Southeast Asian countries and create a unique culture in the lancang-Mekong region through communication, film interactive exhibition and project cooperation.
