During China's eight-day Golden Week holiday, Yunnan received a total of 23.166 million visitors, including 4.63 million for overnight tourist and 18.563 million for one-day tourist, raking in 19.2 billion yuan, no COVID-19 cases, and no major accidents or major complaint cases.
Tourism boom reflected Yunnan's recovery from the COVID-19 epidemic. People were attracted from three ways:
1. Attentive tourism service
Yunnan is promoting digital tourism these years, which makes it easier for visitors to travel here. People could know the information of each scenic spot in time and get free gas voucher via an App“Tour around Yunnan with Just a Mobile Phone". Meanwhile, epidemic prevention signs were all around. At the entrances of scenic spots, tourists could easily find the health QR codes and get masks for free.
On the first day of the holiday, the Shangri-La Oxygen Inhalation Center opened to the public free of charge, which made non-local tourists praise Yunnan for its excellent tourism and services. According to Zhuoma, the director of the center, there were 30 beds available and portable oxygen cylinders for medical use.“We received about 20 tourists everyday during the holiday, and provided them with boiled water and heating facilities.”
2. Vibrant activities
On the early morning of October 1, many tourists joined Yi people in the ancient town of Chuxiong to release red balloons to celebrate the National Day. In Tengchong's hot spring town, people took part in activities such as field concerts and fishing in rice paddies.
For those staying in Kunming, hiking on the Western Mountain, enjoying local snacks, and taking a bath in hot spring were good choices to spend the eight days.
3. Integrated after-sales service
“Items return within 30 days without reason”has become a feature of Yunnan tourism. At 10 a.m. on October 3, Ms. Shan, who was not satisfied with the jade bracelet bought in Dali, launched a return application online. After receiving the application, Dali’s return supervision center quickly coordinated with the merchants, and Ms. Shan received the full refund after 2 hours.
By October 8, a total of 706 tourist complaints had been received in Yunnan, and the average settlement time was 1 hour and 19 minutes. A total of 589 tourist returns were accepted, involving an amount of 3.8386 million yuan.
