Bai Dwelling Colored Drawings shine with culture


[InKunming--Yunnan] Bai people live in a land, featuring the beauty of mountains and rivers, full of tender breeze, blooming flowers, white snow.

In Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, the “three rooms and one wall screening” Bai dwellings can be seen everywhere. Bai people enjoy their life in villages around Cangshan Mountain and the bank of Erhai Lake.

When take a good look at those Bai dwelling, people can see kinds of colored drawings in shape of animals, plants, poetry and landscapes painted on walls and doors. Moreover, each character on the walls represents Bai people’s surnames.

For example, Li Yunyi, 76 years old, is a member of the Bai ethnic group. He has been engaged in inheriting Bai People Dwelling Colored Drawings for over 50 years. Li means glitters and the strength of character left behind by Li Bai. His parents hoped that he can read a lot like Li Bai.

He learns colored drawings from his father, who always said most the key to do things well is to become a nice person.

Li Yunyi's family reflects tens of millions of Bai families. Bai dwellings colored drawings, with its unique form, carries rich cultural connotations and bears the essence of Bai nationality spirit.
