At 10:00 AM, August 12, the State Council Information Office held the series of press conferences for provinces (autonomous region and municipalities). Issues on Yunnan’s Answer of High-Quality and Leapfrog Development to the New Era were introduced by Mr. Chen Hao, Secretary of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Yunnan Provincial People’s Congress and Mr. Ruan Chengfa, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and Governor of Yunnan Provincial People's Government. 

Now, let’s take a good look at the changes that have taken place in Yunnan over the past 70 years. Yunnan distinguishes itself not only by its natural scenery and wonderful climate, but also its cultural history and time-honored civilizations.

In recent years, Yunnan has been focusing on the goal of building a top travel destination. It has taken measures to improve tourism market and accelerate industrial transformation and upgrading simultaneously. When the application named "E-Travel in Yunnan" came to market, it symbolizes that Yunnan has upgraded the tourism industry. 

Yunnan is the most diverse province all over China. All ethnic groups in Yunnan have made their own contribution to distinctive cultural heritage in the long history. In recent years, Yunnan has strengthened the protection and inheritance of excellent traditional cultures of ethnic minorities, and has taken the lead in promoting legislative protection in China.

Yunnan has consecutively held the South China Expo for five years and the number of participating countries and region has increased from 42 to 87. The South China Expo provides enterprises all over the world with platform to cooperate with each other.

Yunnan is an important intersection point of the "One Belt One Road" construction and the development strategy of Yangtse River Economy Belt. The level of opening up to the outside world in Yunnan is getting higher and higher over the past 70 years.

By the end of 2018, Yunnan has established 11 bilateral and local cooperation mechanisms with 9 countries. Kunming Changshui International Airport has opened flights to 10 ASEAN countries, 5 capitals of South Asia and key cities.

In the first half of 2019, Yunnan has lifted ethnic minority groups of Dulong, De’ang and Jino out of poverty. Yunnan is the main battlefield for poverty alleviation in China. With the encouragement of the General Secretary Xi Jinping, Yunnan has made great progress in its poverty alleviation work.
