[InKunming--Kunming] This year, China's Qixi festival, celebrating the meeting of Niulang and Zhinv stars, falls on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month in Chinese calendar, on August 7. It is also called Qiqiao Festival, Girls' Festvial or Daughters' Festival in China.We need 7 foreign girls and 3 foreign boys to join our event this time!  

On the day, a group of people mainly from Yunnan Hanfu(Han Clothes) Association and Kunming Information Hub Media Group(InKunming Channel) are to celebrate the Qixi festival at Nanqiang Street from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in Kunming, in a bid to better inherit and display traditional Chinese culture, and further feel the charm of traditional Chinese culture, which advocates family harmony and social harmony in essence. 

Some interesting and profound events are to be arranged at Nanqiang Street of Kunming on the day. Firstly, a prayer ritual to Zhinv star is to be organized on the site. Head of the Yunnan Hanfu Association will announce pray words in the open air. Meaning of the pray words refer to good willings of people, such as young girls for being beauty, having exquisite traditional hand skills and having a marriage with the man she loves, young ladies for expecting a healthy child and getting the love of her husband and his parents, men for successfully completing their education or being successful in their careers. 

Secondly, some contests that could test people's hand skills levels are to be held. Partipants are invited to do sewing work on lotus roots according to Chinese old trations in the first round of the contests. Partipants will compete their floating needle skill in the second round of the contests. Within both the first and the second round of the hand skill contests, the one who finishes more quickly will win the contests. The third round of the contests is to test participants' hand skill on embrodering pouch. For the pouch, the more exquisite, the better. Winners of the contests will be awarded small gifts for memorial. 

Highlights of the Qixi festival event at Nanqiang street also include displays of Chinese Han dynasty's traditional bazzar that sells traditional handicrafts, and some wonderful cultural programs, which shows Chinese ancient dances or ancient music equipments' sounds, ect..Meanwhile, the condition that all participants should wear Chinese Hanfu(Han dynasty's clothes) to attend the event creats a perfect environment for foreign friends to feel athentic Chinese traditional culture. Foreign friends are also invited to give a parade on Nanqiang street while wearing the Chinese Hanfu during the event on August 7.
