[InKunming--Kunming] On May 27, an opening ceremony about International road transport in Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) was unveiled in Kunming. High-level officials from Laos, Vietnam and China attended the ceremony.
After the ceremony, vehicles with GMS driving permit certificate and TAD document will be admitted to shuttle back and forth within Greater Mekong Subregion, which includes Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and China.
Since March 2018, high-level officials from GMS had signed a Memorandum of Understanding that refers to international transport within the region.
Kunming, as a part of the GMS, will give a full play to the function of a grand passage within the region, connecting China and Indo-China Peninsula closer, facilitating more frequent exchange of goods and people in the region, said by Liu Xiaoming, deputy minister of China’s Transport Ministry on the ceremony.
Deputy ministers from Vietnam’s Transport Ministry and Lao Transport Ministry also witnessed the ceremony on the day and gave speeches as well. Liu Xiaoming issued GMS driving permit certificates to relative transportation enterprises.
