Millions of butterflies dance at Ma'andi valley in Honghe

[InKunming--Yunnan] Since late May, Ma'andi Township in Jinping County, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture always appears various natural landscapes as millions of butterflies break out of their cocoons. They move to dance together, featuring a spectacular scene.

"The number of butterflies is likely to reach 110 million. Due to the high temperature and drought in Yunnan, the time of out-breaking is 28 days earlier than last year,"according to Yang Zhenwen, a butterfly observer at the Butterfly Valley Administration.

Walking into Ma'andi Resorts, people could see butterflies flying everywhere. Butterflies dance like falling leaves, attracting tourists all over the world.

"Ma'andi is not only a paradise for butterflies, but also for human beings. I hope human beings protect green mountains and clear water well so that more and more people appreciate natural wonders."a tourist named Guangling said.

There are 11 families of more than 320 species of butterflies recorded in Ma'andi. It is good climate and fine environment that create favorable conditions for the survival and reproduction of butterflies. In recent years, Jinping County has continuously taken measures to protect the valley.
