[InKunming--Yunnan] In recent years, blue-tailed bee-eaters, also called merops philippinus in scientific name, consecutively come to Qiaojia county, Yunnan province, for inhabitation and breeding.
There is a river that flows along Qiaojia county attracting the blue-tailed bee-eaters very much. They always fly to live on sand rocks of the river in the middle of May, and then breed. In August, the parent bee-eaters will take their baby birds to leave Qiaojia.
Blue-tailed bee-eaters, considered as the most beautiful bird species in China, have attracted groups of photographers to take pictures of them every year in Qiaojia.
They are accustomed to living in hot places including Southeast Asia, Hainan, Guangdong, Fujian and Yunnan provinces of China. Right now, they are listed as endangered animals by World Conservation Union, and should be protected carefully by human beings.
