[InKunming--Kunming] An array of activities of “Slow life in Bajie town, a journey of roses” will be launched on April 27 in Baijie town, Anning, Yunnan. Photography competition, flower salon, tent camp and other themed events will be staged in turn.
Baijie town has been planting roses since the 1950s which is the earliest area to grow edible roses in Yunnan province. The total area of roses, at present, has reached 9700 mu and become a representative name card of Yunnan.
The blooming peak usually lasts from April to May. The first batch of blooming roses will become a sought-after product, featuring strong fragrance and thick petals. The village committee will set up a special rose product sales area and a food area for tourists to buy and eat roses. Local cuisine will be provided as well.
Bajie is a municipal water resource reserve in Anning city, where the forest coverage rate is more than 60%. Visitors are encouraged to take photos of the natural scenery, folk customs and ethnic culture to participate in the photography competition.
