[InKunming--Kunming] According to legend, in 2737 BC, the Chinese emperor Shen Nung was sitting beneath a tree while his servant boiled drinking water, when some leaves from the tree blew into the water. Shen Nung, a renowned herbalist, decided to try the infusion that his servant had accidentally created. The tree was a Camellia sinensis, and the resulting drink was what we now call tea.

Tea is native to China, and Chinese tea culture has a long history. In order to spread Chinese tea culture, Kunming Information Hub plans to launch a Pu’er (Pu-erh) tea tasting party on April 14 under the framework of “Unveiling Yunnan”. We recruit 9 foreigners to experience taste Pu’er tea and learn Chinese tea culture.
Pu'er tea is a fermented or fermentable kind of tea that is famed for its aging potential. There are two main categories of pu'er tea: the dark and earthy ripe (or shu) pu'er is the most common kind in the west; raw (or sheng) pu'er is quite close to green or yellow tea when it's young, but it'll change in incredible ways when aged properly for enough years.
Enough about the basic information of Pu’er tea, do you want to sip a cup of dark and earthy ripe pu'er tea? Are you interested to appreciate tea culture performance? Are you willing to acquire the essential skill of making a cup of good tea? If all the answers are yes, just reply “your country + name” behind the the post before April 13. The former 9 foreigners can get the chance to taste nice Pu’er tea for free.
