Tengchong handmade paper. [Gao Dengze/Xinhua]
[InKunming--Yunnan] Xinhua village, located on the west of Gaoligong mountain in Yunnan, is still using an ancient method to make paper, called Shouchaozhi.
The production process of this handmade paper is very complicate. It needs to go through 72 processes, including soaking, boiling, washing, drying, baking, etc. This manual paper is irreplaceable by machine-made paper.

The handmade paper have two colors, the white and the original color. If add some bleach powder, it will be white.
There are still more than 20 families to preserve this ancient manual paper craft in this small village. Not only increases the income of villagers, this craft but also becomes a cultural heritage handed down from generation to generation.
