[InKunming--Yunnan] As all the flowers coming out, there's a breath of spring in the air in Yunnan with abundant sunshine. Cherry blossom festival simultaneously takes place in many places. Here are several scenic spots to admire cherry blossoms.

Kunming Yuantongshan Zoo

Time: mid to late March

Kunming Yuantongshan Zoo is famous for its cherry blossoms, which owns a history of more than one hundred years. The scenery of cherry blossom has become an intangible cultural heritage in Yunnan province. Every spring, the number of people who come here to appreciate cherry blossom reaches up to one million.

There are over 5,000 cherry blossoms and hall crabapple trees in the park, which grow strongly after scientific management and suitable climate. It is noticeable, however, that taking buses or walking are encouraged methods to get to the zoo due to a large number of people visit there on weekends.

Changsongyuan park in Songming county

Time: March

In Changsongyuan park, the cherry blossom has entered flowering period, forming a flourishing flower avenue. These 2,000 cherry trees were planted 10 years ago, according to the park. It is open to the public for free, and it only takes half an hour’s driving from Kunming to the park.

Cherry blossom valley in Yiliang county

Time: March 6 to April 10

The 1st Kunming Yiliang Cherry Blossom Culture and Tourism Festival kicked off in Yiliang cherry blossom valley on March 6, and will run until April 10.

Within a cover of 3800 mu, about 60 species of cherry blossoms are planted here where is the largest planting base of cherry blossom in Yunnan province. Inviting friends to have a stroll across cherry trees, you can smell the sweet breath of spring. Not only admiring flowers, various activities are held here, such as Yoga, Tai Chi, photo contest and so forth.

In addition to the above three places, Dali University, Yuxi’s Mopan mountain, Malong’s cherry blossom valley, and Fuyuan county are worth going. In fact, there is no need to go that far. Flourishing cherry trees can be found in urban area of Kunming, such as West Hongta Road, North Haiyuan Road and Yuantong Road. Broken petals fall in the wind, adorning Kunming a pink and romantic city.
