[InKunming--Sister Cities] China-Laos Art Festival was held at Ziyunqingniao-Yunnan Cultural and Creative Expo Park in Kunming on March 8. Lao students, officers and businessmen attended the opening ceremony of the festival with some Chinese people at the park.
Lao clothes, food and dances were demonstrated on that opening ceremony day. Chinese calligraphy and paintings, tea culture, and poems were also presented during the festival.

Consul general of Laos in Kunming gave a speech at the opening ceremony. He said that 2019 is the Year of China-Laos Tourism. Within the year, both Chinese and Lao people are to expand personnel exchanges and strengthen cultural communication, establishing a community of shared future between China and Laos.

The consul general added that since Laotian traditional water-sprinkling festival is to be celebrated in April, wish more Chinese people who showed up on the festival could join them for celebrating in April, to experience traditional Lao culture and customs.
