[InKunming--Kunming] 2019 Asian Sepak Takraw Championship is to be held in June at Yunnan University of Finance and Economics. Players from countries of ASEAN(Association of Southeast Asian Nations), Janpan, Korea, and China's Honkong, Taibei will attend the championship.  

Yunnan people, especially those from Dehong and Xishuangbanna, have customs to play sepak takraw in spare time. This tradition creates a natural base to connect with people from foreign countries sharing the same hobby.

It is said that 2019 Asian Sepak Takraw Championship is the sepak takraw competition that represents the world's highest level. It is sponsored by Asian Sepak Takraw Federation, General Administration of Sport of China, China's Sepak Takraw Association, Yunnan Provincial Sports Bureau, and Kunming municipal government.

To organize such a competition in Kunming, it could not only make Kunming people get familiar with such a sport, and add fun to their normal life, but also strengthen communication with people from ASEAN countries, Janpan, Korea and other countries. 

"Wish Yunnan and Kunming's economy could develop with the help of holding such competitions in the locality," the principal of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics said.
