[InKunming--Yunnan] With the Spring Festival just around the corner, the festive flavor is in the air in countryside. 2019 Jingyiyuan Tourism Culture Festival was held at Jingyiyuanzhuangyuan (景彝源庄苑), Luohe township, Hongta District, Yuxi City. Visitors can not only enjoy delicious ciba (glutinous rice cake), but also experience the process of making it.

Generally speaking, Yi people living in Luohe township kill their domestic pig to serve relatives and friends before the Spring Festival. It is a tradition, so is pounding the cooked rice into erkuai (rice cake).

In the end of the twelfth month of the lunar calendar, local people will make ciba, a rice cake made of glutinous rice. They like to make enough ciba so that they can eat it until the lantern festival. In the past, people had to make ciba at a certain place in countryside. Nowadays, people can make ciba wherever they want.

Besides, plenty of interactive activities are in full swing. Those who are interested are supposed to go Jingyiyuanzhuangyuan (景彝源庄苑) except February 3 to 5.
