[InKunming--Yunnan] Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism announced that it will keep carrying out tourism revolution in the province in 2019 at a news conference. 

“Tourism revolution carried out in Yunnan last year has achieved good results. The number of overseas tourists to Yunnan increased 5% compared to that in the year over last year, reaching 7 million. Tourism revenue of Yunnan province attained 845 billion yuan, growing 22% year-on-year. ” said He Ligui, the director of Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.

He Ligui also said that the overall growth rate of Yunnan’s tourism industry exceeded China’s national average level in terms of statistics recorded in 2018. Yunnan shall keep carrying out tourism revolution in 2019, in a bid to create better tourism environment for tourists. 

An officer of Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism claimed that it would name the year of 2019 after “Yunnan International Tourism Year” at the news conference. Publicity slogan of the year is “Free Yunnan”.

Three measures are to be implemented in the year. The first is set to energetically develop special projects that are related to Yunnan’s local music, culture competitions, and folk sport games. The second is made to promote kinds of delicious foods created in Yunnan. And the third is planned to develop new travelling routes, which may be about “Tea Mountain” culture and any other cultural topics.

With the measures mentioned above, Yunnan shall welcome travelers in a better posture this year, noted by He Ligui, the director of Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
