[InKunming--Kunming] Kunming in winter is pleasant and charming with clear blue skies, fresh air and abundant sunshine. On December 13, two Indian couples got married near Dianchi Lake in Kunming, costing 20 million yuan.
At 11 a.m., the grand wedding ceremony began with music. Two handsome grooms dressed in traditional Indian costumes, surrounded by a large number of relatives and friends dressed in the same gorgeous clothes to fetch beautiful brides.
The wedding included both Indian and Chinese elements which were an eye-opening experience towards all the guests, involving Indian drums and dances, Indian cuisine, and Chinese dragon and lion dances.
“Family members held wedding overseas before, but it was the first time in Kunming and it made a huge success.” One of the relatives said and he was very complimentary about Kunming. He was impressed by amazing landscape and wonderful ethnic minority culture of Kunming.
During the wedding, about 970 family members and employees attended.
Why do Indian weddings take place in Kunming?
“Indian people are fond of hold wedding all over the world, such as Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Dubai, Turkey and other countries.” Wang Xiangyun, the director of Yunnan Society For China-India Cooperation and Exchange, said Indians attach great importance to weddings as the most important event of a family. The wedding had been prepared for nearly one year. The reason why they chose Kunming was mainly because the cozy weather in winter and the unique ethnic minority culture. He believed that Yunnan has great potential in developing the destination of international wedding tourism .
