[InKunming--Kunming] As the bike-sharing booming in Kunming, there has been some uncivilized behaviors as well, with bicycles threw into the Panlong River. Recently, about 250 shared bikes have been salvaged from the Panlong River of Guandu section during just 4 days.

Zhou Yuan, the operator of Hellobike in Guandu district told that shared bicycles are equipped with Global Position System (GPS) units. Once they found that bikes have been missing for a long time, they would search for them. Most of the bikes disappeared around river. Hellobike organized a team of 20 people to salvage bikes out of river from November 25.

“It always takes at least half an hour for two workers to salvage a bike struck in the bottom of the river.” Zhou Yuan introduced, among the 250 bikes, there are 100 Ofo bikes and 50 bikes of HelloBike, Mobike and other company individually. 

It costs about 3,000 yuan to produce a Hellobike. Many bikes have been soaked in water for several months and parts of the bike have got rusted. There is only one way to deal with those bikes, which is scrapped, Zhou Yuan added.

Start-ups said that shared bikes provides people with convenience. To some extent, the development of a city depends on citizens’ civilized behaviors. It is for the best if people can carefully use the bikes and do not damage them, and park them in certain place after biking.
