[InKunming--Kunming] On September 21, the annual fishing season of Dianchi Lake came again. At 10:30 a.m., the 3rd Dianchi Lake Fishing Festival officially kicked off at the wharf of Colorful Yunnan - Ancient Dian Kingdom Culture and Tourism Town.

Compared with previous years,the opening ceremony this year moved to the stage behind which is Dianchi Lake. With the help of the beautiful natural scenery of Dianchi, an amazing landscape was presented in the front of fishermen. When tremendous gongs and drums sounded at the same time, thousands of sailing boats set sail on a wide stretch of the lake. What a magnificent sight!

In the afternoon of that day, a large fish weighing 20.37 kg won the title of "King of Fish" in the competition and auction activities. Shortly after that, the large fish was traded at a high price of 16,800 yuan. The fisherman who caught the fish gained 1,000 yuan bonus, as well as a trophy and a certificate.

During this fishing festival, citizens and tourists can not only buy a delicious range of fresh fish and lake-food, but also have chance to enjoy a wonderful fish feast at the canteen. Those who love delicacies should not miss it. 

In addition, a series of interesting events and activities are in full swing. For instance, auction for the king of fish, children’s car race, hot air balloon ride, dragon boat race and so on.

Most importantly, fishing is divided into two periods this year. During the first period from Sept. 21 to 30, fishermen can catch big fish. While during the second period from Oct. 3 to Nov. 1, they can fish for white-baits and shrimps.
