[InKunming--Kunming] The 2018 SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) Kunming International Marathon is to accept application from Septermber 20, and will officially begin on December 2.

The only authorised application channel is through the website www.sco-marathon.com which will be closed at 11 p.m. on October 7.

It is said that 20,000 participants and foreign diplomats from SCO, ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), and EU (European Union) are expected to join the marathon and its relative events.

Compared to previous marathons, this marathon has upgraded its competition standards, increased applicants’ numbers, and built up a platfrom for different countries’ youth to exchange and cooperate.

Four kinds of contest items are set up during the marathon. They are full marathon (42.195 kilometers), half-marathon (21.0975 kilometers), public health run (7 kilometers), and SCO family run (2.018 kilometers).

Applicants who are equal to or above 20 years old have the right to apply for the full marathon. Applicants who are equal to or above 16 years old have the right to apply for half-marathon. As for the public health run and SCO family run, any applicant could apply without age limits. 

It is noteworthy that each applicant should be liable for his health before official application. To have a physical examination and keep normal in blood pressure, heart and any other parts of the body before the marathon.
