[InKunming--Yunnan]  From August 3 to 10, E’shan county in Yunnan’s Yuxi will officially celebrate 2018 Torch Carnival Tourism Festival and the 4th Yi Flower Drum Dance Art Festival to promote Yi nationality’s culture.

This year’s E’shan Torch Festival will be divided into five parts, including the opening ceremony, Yi Flower Drum Dance Art Festival, cultural and sport activities, tourism promotion and food party, with a total of 21 events. It will start from July 27 to August 18. 

Moreover, a number of activities to show the unique culture of Yi nationality in E’shan will be presented to audience during the festival, such as, bow-drill fire making show, ancestor-worshiping celebration, Yi embroidery show, photography exhibition, long table banquet, music gala, and so on.

It is worth mentioning that a bow-drill fire making show will be hold in Tadian town of E’shan county at 9:09 am on August 5. At that time, the fire will be spread all over E’shan and will be carried to the central square and lit the main torch. With the burning of the main torch, thousands of people will dance and sing around the torch to celebrate the annual festival.
