[InKunming--Kunming] On July 11th, the 14th China navigation day, an opening ceremony of 2018 Kunming Zhenghe Cultural Tourism Festival was celebrated in Jinning, which is the hometown of Zhenghe. More than 5,000 Jinning people gathered to witness this celebration. China's renowned piano player Li Yundi also sent a video expressing his greeting.

Main venue and sub-venue of the festival are set up from July 11th to 15th. Kunyang, as the main venue of the festival in Jinning, hosts an exhibition of paintings and calligraphy works from famous Jinning artists in Jinning museum. Meanwhile, Harbin Beer Beach Music Festival, Old Photos Collection, Zhenghe Exhibition and other commemorative activities are held at the main venue.

The 2nd "Zhenghe Cup" Photography Contest organized by Kunming Information Hub Media attracts a large number of people to admire. The contest received 2,620 works from many countries, among which 520 are old photos and 2,100 are excellent works. 36 works were selected to exhibit on the festival. Those prize-winning works reflect Jinning's historical changes, magnificent panorama, ecological landscapes and so on.  

While the main venue is in a joyful atmosphere, the sub-venue also celebrates with wonderful activities at Colorful Yunnan Ancient Dian City (七彩云南·古滇名城). During the 5-day period, activities including model aircraft show, aquatic sport euipment exhibition, the national maritime model display team training, Dianchi dragon boat exhibition, long street banquet, balance bike competition are waiting for citizens to enjoy.
