[InKunming--Yunnan] May and June are the best time to admire flamingos at Yunnan Wild Animal Park as their feathers become bright vermilion when their rutting season comes. With beautiful colors, the male flamingos will parade in line, waiting for the female flamingos.

In the animal park, 13 flamingos live in a small area. A mirror is put inside with these flamingos. According to the manager Liu of the park, given the flamingo is a social animal who enjoy living in a large population. Therefore, they can see many peers through the mirror to make them live peacefully.

The flamingos are as beautiful as being painted in red. Liu introduced that flamingo is about 0.8 to 1.6 tall with red feathers, like a mass of burning fire. By eating small shrimps, fish, algae and plankton, their feathers will become red in order to attract opposite sex.

If you have time to visit flamingos recently, you can see their some interesting behaviors. For example, the animal will stand on one foot when they sleep, and they will hide head in wings. The male flamingos will line up and run to attract the attention of female.
