[InKunming--Yunnan] The Yunnan section of Chenggui (Chengdu East to Guiyang East) High-speed rail (HSR) will start track laying work from July 15th. It has estimated that this section will be completed and opened to traffic by the end of 2019. There are three stations on the Yunnan section, Xinjie Station, Weixin Station and Zhenxiong Station, according to the official news.
Chenggui HSR spans 632.6 kilometers with a total investment of about 78 billion yuan. Among all the stations, the Chengdu East Station to Leshan Station (117 km) has been put into operation ahead of schedule on December 20th, 2014.
In fact, the Leshan Station to Guiyang East Station has begun construction in the end of 2013, which travels through Sichuan’s Yibin City, Changning County, Xingwen County, Yunnan’s Weixin County, Zhenxiong County, and Guizhou’s Bijie City, Dafang County, Qianxi County. The main track line is 515 kilometers long and the design speed is 250km per hour.
It is said that the journey time between Guiyang and Chengdu will be shorten to at most 3 hours including the stopping time. Namely, citizens in Zhaotong City of Yunnan Province will be able to take HSR to other places in the near future. At the same time, the operation of HSR will play a key role in the process of local poverty alleviation and economic and social development.
