The first “Belt and Road” Intl Micro Documentary Festival held in Dehong

[InKunming--Yunnan] Under the theme of “Exchange, Cooperation and Development”, the first “Belt and Road” International Micro Documentary Festival kicked off in Mangshi city of Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan.

The festival is a prominent brand in the construction of “Belt and Road” and the South Asia and Southeast Asia radiation center of Yunnan, aiming to facilitate a new landmark for the international cultural exchange.

Relying on its unique cultural advantages, Dehong prefecture produced a number of micro films and television works, such as China Expeditionary Force, Dao Anren, etc. When promotes the prosperity of literature and art in the frontier, Dehong’s popularity and reputation have been greatly improved.




“I’m attracted by the charm of different cultures in Dehong, and I like the atmosphere of various nationalities here.” said Zhang Jizhong, the chairman of the film festival, who is also the famous Chinese director. He praised this event as a spark of cultural innovation.

“The film and television industry in Myanmar has developed rapidly in recent years,” U Soe Paing, the consul general of Myanmar in Kunming said, “art is without borders. Through cultural communication, we hope to promote the development of film industry, and the friendship between China and Myanmar. This festival is a great tool to inspire film workers’ innovation, and provides them with a platform to show their national customs.”




The first international film festival can ensure that the frontier people have the chance to enjoy various cultural products, and it is conducive to expand a new cultural exchange channels for “B&R” countries.

Since the inception of the film festival, the organizing committee had widely collected exhibition works. It received attention and positive response from international and domestic micro documentary industry. There are 248 works from 10 countries and areas, including China, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, South Korea, Nepal, and Taiwan China. These works will be judged by 19 experts from different countries, and finally 10 awards will be selected.

Furthermore, the Dehong creation base of “Belt and Road” International Micro Documentary and “Colorful Yunnan, International Art Creation base” are established in Mangshi city.
