[InKunming--Kunming] To create a festal atmosphere for citizens, Kunming Yuantong zoo will hold series of activities under the theme “enjoy beautiful scenery and delicious food & celebrate new year with cute animals”. Decorated with festive elements and flower landscape, the zoo will offer tourists a food feast with domestic and foreign food, while the Yuantong international circus theatre will give wonderful shows. Some traditional events held during Spring Festival will also be presented to tourists, including giving Spring Festival couplets for free, guessing lantern riddles and other fete activities.

As the Spring Festival being coming, Kunming Yuantong zoo has planted more than 100,000 pots of pansy, kale and primula. The peacock garden is full of butterfly-like magnolia flowers which will blossom during the Spring Festival. The blooming flowers and cherry blossoms let the smell of spring come.

From the first day to the sixth of Spring Festival, Yuantong international circus theatre will perform twice a day. The first one is from 1 pm to 2:30 pm, and the second is between 3:30 pm to 5 pm, which give tourists alternative choices to arrange their holiday plan. In addition, the theater will also conduct some interactive games in where dolls, paper-cut flowers, lanterns and balloons will be sent.

During the Spring Festival, the baby elephant, born on May 20, 2017, will meet tourists with love and blessings. The new comer, a baby giraffe, will wait for you to feed him fresh leaves. The otter, auricle, fennec fox, meerkat and other cute animals are also waiting for citizens to come and celebrate the Spring Festival together.

To greet the upcoming festival, an international food carnival will be held at cherry blossom square, cherry lane and waterfowl pool square from February 16 to March 4. There will be more than 100 kinds of food from home and abroad, such as sugar-coated haws on a stick from Beijing, pita bread soaked in lamb soup from Xi’an, fried rice cake from South Korea, naan bread from India, churrasco from Brazil, delicious bread from Germany, etc.

Besides, other activities will be hold including dough figurine, sugar painting, paper cutting, making cotton candy, and so on. The zoo will held a lantern riddles guessing competition in the waterfowl pool square with 20,000 prizes waiting for you.
