Historical filmForever Youngabout Yunnan hits big screens

[InKunming--Yunnan] The film Forever Young showing historical events of Yunnan officially releases today (January 12th).

The film depicts the stories of Tsinghua students as they pursuing their dreams during four different eras. It is the first time that the process of establishing The National SouthWest Associated University is presented on Chinese cinema screens.

The film is directed by Li Fangfang and the leading cast include Zhang Ziyi, Huang Xiaoming, Leehom Wang, Chen Chusheng, Chang Chen and so on. Meanwhile, actress Wang Yilin from Yunnan and “Little Well” Farmers’ Choir from Fumin participated in the film, showing Yunnan locals’ customs to the fulfillment.

The crew came to Kunming to shoot the film in 2012 after completing part of it in Beijing. Kunming dialect and local cuisine have been adapted to the big screen as Kunming Lotus Pond Park (Kunming Lianhuachi Park) and Zhenzhuang Hotel becoming the shooting spots. In order to truly reflect historical stories of Flying Tigers, the crew have built a training set at Xundian County.  

The film is about to be released the same time with the 80th anniversary of the The National SouthWest Associated University in 2018. It it the first time to present those historical events to audiences through a film.
