[InKunming--Yunnan]  The 2nd Gaoligong Mountain International Birding Festival will be held during December 10th to 12nd. Theme of the festival is “Respect for Nature and Respect for Life”. During this period, ecological experts, photography fans, bird professionals, and members of bird organizations will gather at Baihua Ridge of Gaoligong Mountain, join and record the festival.

A series of exciting events will be held, including the 2017 China Birdnet Annual International Wildlife Photographic Competition, the 2nd Gaoligong Mountain Bird Photographic Competition and so on.

Gaoligong Mountain Bird Photographic Competition aims to show the harmonious coexistence of human beings and birds, as well to reflect the beautiful image of the ecological balance between birds and natural environment. Participants are encouraged to record the life of birds, birds’ living conditions, birds’ flying process and other spectacular moments.

Gaoligong Mountain is one of the areas with the most abundant diversity of birds in China. It has 525 species of birds that have been known, accounting for 54.8% of the total 958 species of birds in Yunnan, and 37.5% of the total 1400 species in China. Baihua Ridge, located in the resort area, is known as China’s five-star bird sanctuary. It has more than 30 bird photography places, and more than 80 bird guides. The best bird watching season is October to May.
