[InKunming--Yunnan] Jinhong(Jinning District, Kunming City-Hongta District, Yuxi City) Expressway was opened to traffic on November 8th after three years’ construction. It is the first expressway project under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model in Yunnan Province.

It is said that 8.649 billion yuan has been invested in the project. The total length of Jinhong Expressway is 49.335 kilometers starting from Kunyang Town, Jinning District, Kunming City and ending in Yanhe Town, Hongta District,Yuxi City. It is designed as a two-way six-lane expressway where drivers could drive at a maximum speed of 70 km per hour.

A plenty of local characteristics and factors were added into the design and construction in the process of building. As a result, Jinhong Expressway is not only a high-quality road, but also a comprehensive engineering project combining natural and humane landscapes.

Jinhong Expressway plays an important part for Yunnan Province to connect Southeast Asia and South Asia regions. It was listed into the key projects as well. The opening of this expressway makes Kunming and Yuxi City closer, establishing a traffic foundation for Yunnan economic circle. It helps boost the development of economy and tourism fields in the province.
