Five parks for citizens to appreciate maples and flowers

[InKunming--Kunming] People would picture naked trees and withered leaves in their heads when it comes to autumn, but it is not the case in Kunming.

Red maple leaves and colorful flowers always add spice to scenery of this beautiful city in late autumn.

Here are five recommended parks for citizens to appreciate nature:

Jiaoye Park

Located on Yu’an Mountain in the north-west suburb of Kunming, Jiaoye Park is 15 kilometers away from the downtown. 50,000 wild lilies are holding a beauty pageant in it, waiting visitors to admire their charms. The best time to see lilies is around 20th October.

Other than lilies, tourists could also see peach blossoms, cherry blossoms and chrysanthemums as well.

Black Dragon Pool Park

6,000 sweet gum trees are planted on the slope of Black Dragon Pool Park. It seems like the slope is “dyed” red by red maples, which gives people a sense of warmth in the cool autumn.

As leaves are falling, a red “carpet” made of maples is put down on the ground. Every year, this breath-taking scenery never fails to attract thousands of visitors.

Green Lake Park

Green Lake Park, situated in the downtown, is the best spot to see sweet gum trees if citizens do not like traveling too far. People could enter the park from the east gate and see beautiful views along the way.

Haikou Forest Farm

If citizens prefer to appreciate the beauty of nature in a place where there are less people, then Haikou Forest Farm will be an optimal choice for them. Trees with red leaves are mainly planted in the subtropical highland park.

Daguan Pavilion Park

The 23th Chrysanthemum Exhibition is being held in Daguan Pavilion Park and will come to an end on 31st October. More than 600 species of chrysanthemums in more than 30,000 pots are on show.
