  The third Flower-Drum Dance Festival and Torch Festival for Yi ethnic group will be held from July 14th to 20th in Eshan County, Yuxi City. Citizens and visitors could dance with thousands of people to celebrate the festivals.

Under the theme of “Passionate July and Awesome Eshan”, many rituals including drilling wood to make a fire and an ancestor to worship ceremony will he held on July 15th.

The Torch Festival is about to kick off by firing a main torch at the central square in Eshan County. Thousands of people will dance with each other around the torch. At the same time, all the villages of the county will light the torch as well. The whole county will be immersed in joys of the festival.

Eshan is the first Yi people’s autonomous county in China. The Torch Festival is the most magnificent and richest festival for them. Except for a series of activities, sorts of performances and activities will be designed to display charms of Eshan County, too.
