[InKunming--Kunming]  The opening ceremony for the Santai Mountain Cultural Tourism Festival took place on April 8th in Chenggong. Citizens can appreciate the famous folk performances from Dali, the top painting and calligraphy exhibition and colorful lantern show.

"Currently we focus on the construction of commerce zone in Chenggong District new area while the old one pays attention to the display of culture and history."Liu Qiuhou said, the CEO of Chunhui Development Company Limited.

There are various delicious food in a street which remains the traditional architectural style. Nowadays 45 enterprise have started running business there, satisfying about 6,000 people’s meal. Citizens and visitors could taste sorts of local cuisines and snacks from Southeast Asia.

Santai Mountain serves as the landmark of Chenggong Old town. Standing upon the Santai Mountain, people could glance at the scenery of Chenggong or look out the landscape of Lake Dian and West Mountain. Moreover, more than 70 painting and calligraphy works would be presented in the exhibition to show the glistening peach flowers.

Most importantly, a large-scale lantern show consisting of more than two millions lanterns will be held in seven theme parks. It is the first time to throw a lantern show in Chenggong.

Tips for the Cultural Tourism Festival

Time: April 8th to May 7th

Spot: Santai Mountain park and Longjing pedestrian street

Painting and calligraphy exhibition starting from April 8th to 23rd at Dongxiangge Santai Mountain.

Lantern show starting from April 8th to May 7th at 19:00-22:00 every night. People can take the subway to Dounan Station and then take the bus 250 to Xingcheng Rd.
