[InKunming--Kunming] The 18th Cherry Blossom Festival will kick off at Kunming Zoo on February 25th. The 3rd Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition will be held on March 1st. Gorgeous flowers and wonderful activities make Kunming an awesome place to take a look.

At present, majority of Chinese flowering crab-apples have been blossoming at the zoo. Citizens and visitors could go and see them until the beginning of March. Then cherries will usher their blossoming time shortly after Chinese flowering crab-apples.

Referring to the 3rd Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition, it will last until the end of March. Sorts of activities will be organized during the exhibition, so that people could feel charms of cultural heritages when appreciating the beauty of flowers. The activities are organized for calling people’s attention to protect traditional cultures.

Fourteen projects with intangible cultural heritage works will be presented from 10：00 to 16:30 in March, such as Yi people embroidery, paper-cut and Gourd carving, etc. Besides, five classic traditional delicacies will show up then, including Guandu food, Jianxinyuan snacks, Chenggong pea meal, Xundian beef and Yiliang roast duck. Exhibition boards put in Cherry Lane will provide people with details about the intangible cultural heritages in Yunnan.

It is worthwhile to mention that auctions will be held on weekends from 14：00 to 17：00 at the zoo, too. All the money gained from the auctions will be donated to Yunnan Youth Development Foundation. The staff of the Foundation will use the money to protect white rhinoceros.

In addition, award winners in the photography competition named “New Garden and Beautiful Kunming” will get corresponding awards at the zoo on February 25th. What’s more, “Yuantong Mountain Park with Cherry Photography Competition” will start during the Cherry Blossom Festival (Feb. 25th to Mar.30th). Results of the competion will be posted on April 1st.

Yuantong International Circus at the zoo will recover its performance ticket price. Ticket price ranges from 80 to 100 yuan. And there will be many other interesting activities designed for lovely kids at the zoo. A birthday feast for celebrating the coming of the cute Asian elephant will be organized on March 19th.

In short, with the approach of Cherry Blossom Festival, various activities will be held to enrich people’s life. Those who are interested in the activities could go and enjoy a great time at Kunming Zoo.
