[InKunming--China] China's Procurator-General Cao Jianming on Friday asked prosecuting bodies at all levels to voluntarily receive the supervision of non-Communist parties and personnel.
Cao, head of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP), made the remarks at a symposium soliciting opinion on the SPP annual work report, attended by members of non-Communist parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and people without party affiliation.
Noting the significance of consultative democracy and democratic supervision, he called on prosecutors to invite non-Communists into law enforcement supervision and support their research into issues of public concern.
Cao said he believes supervision is of great importance to democratic decision-making.
