[InKunming--Kunming] Drama Emily of Emerald Hill is to be put on show on March 8 in Kunming, Kunming Theatre announced.
After its premiere in Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia in 1984, the drama nowadays is still a very popular play in the country since it was listed as one of the most important national plays in Malaysia for over 20 years.
Emily is a leading but also the only role that acts in the drama. The drama Emily of Emerald Hill is a mono drama in line with its kind. It tells a moving story about Emily's almost entire life to try to be a successful wife and mom in a rich and powerful family on Emerald Hill.
Emily married with her rich husband when she was only 14 years old. No matter how struggling and diligent she was for maintaining the rich and powerful family's honor and order in past 50 years, Emily was finally forgotten by her husband and her eldest son.
The drama discussed about women's social values to a society, arousing women's consensus on how to live better lives for themselves.
March 8 is International Women's Day. To put the drama Emily of Emerald Hill on show is to relax all women who plan to attend the show, according to Kunming Theatre.
Emily is acted by Ren Mingsong, who is an experienced female actor in China. Her acting skills in the drama were highly approved by famous Chinese film directors John Woo(Chinese name: Wu Yusen) and WaiMan Yip(Chinese name: Ye Weimin).
Yan Yongqi, the director of the drama Emily of Emerald Hill also praised Ren Mingsong's acting skills. He thought that the drama could not be fulfilled without Ren Mingsong's wonderful performances.
