[InKunming--Yunnan]  The ninth Folk Singing and Dancing Competition recently concluded in Mengzi city, Yunnan province, ynci reported.

Over 1,000 folk artists from 16 cities across Yunnan participated in this year’s competition, making it the largest ever.

Performances with musical instruments based on a local folk tune in Menglian county were performed to good reviews from the audiences.

The competition was divided into different groups such as singing, dancing and musical instruments.

A total of 14 gold medals, 18 silver medals and 27 bronze medals were presented to the artists. Nineteen delegations received group awards.
