[InKunming--Kunming]  Ancient Dian Culture and Tourism City, which is located in Jinning County, Kunming, has officially opened to the public on November 15 for its first phase. Celebration ceremony was held on a dock of the City on that day.

Kunming municipal government introduced that the Ancient Dian Culture and Tourism City is set to be one of the ten historical and cultural tourism projects of Yunnan Province.

Within the City, the biggest characteristics such as water function and fishing life style of the ancients that appeared in previous Dian Kingdom are highlighted.

In the first phase of the City, Grand Theatre of Ancient Dian Culture, Ancient Dian Culture Museum, Minority Tribes’ Area, Happy World Theme World, Ancient Dian Kingdom’s Taste Food Court, and some hotels were built up with investment of 22 billion yuan(RMB).

Besides, a large-scale Yihai dock and a wetland park that covers 1,100 mu and holds varieties of plants and flowers were also established in the City. The two projects cost 8 billion yuan(RMB) for their construction.

On the City’s first opening day, around 86,000 tourists visited the City. The amount of visitors on that day surpassed expectations of the City’s administrators.

A citizen surnamed Zhang said excitedly: “Completion of the Ancient Dian Culture and Tourism City expand a new channel for citizens like us to admire Dianchi Lake and know Ancient Dian Culture. ” Mr. Zhang was taking photos of the City with his camera when InKunming reporter encountered him. He wished to reveal beauty of Dianchi Lake from a new angle.
