[InKunming--Kunming] Routes Asia 2015, which was held in Kunming from March 15 to March 17, came to an end two weeks ago. According to the forum, Kunming is scheduled to open more international flights to Southeast and South Asian countries in the year of 2017.
Up to now, Kunming Changshui Airport operates 87 international round-trip flights to Southeast and South Asian countries every week. Kunming has set up 46 international airlines to other foreign cities in the world. Passengers could directly fly to 33 foreign cities from Kunming.
Passengers could directly fly to 7 Southeast Asian countries from Kunming as below:
Seven cities of Thailand: Bangkok, Chiengmai, Phuket, Krabi, Koh Samui, Chiang Rai, Surat Thani
Two cities of Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi
One city of Laos: Vientiane
Three cities of Myanmar: Rangoon, Mandalay, Naypyidaw
Singapore: Changi Airport
Two cities of Cambodia: Siem Reap, Phnom Penh
Three cities of Vietnam: Da Nang, Hanoi, Nha trang
Through Kunming Changshui airport, passengers could directly take a plane to 5 South Asian countries as follows:
Bangladesh: Dacca
Nepal: Katmandu
India: Kalcutta
Maldives: Male
Sri Lanka: Colombo
Passengers could take a non-stop plane in Kunming Changshui airport to other Asian countries as follows:
One city of the United Arab Emirates: Dubai
Two cities of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Medina, Jeddah
Four cities of South Korea: Seoul, Cheju, Daegu, and Busan
One city of Japan: Osaka
Moreover, passengers could fly to France's Paris from Kunming Changshui airport. Kunming-Shanghai-Vancouver route is set to open in June this year by Yunnan Branch of Eastern Airlines Company. Flights of this route will connect Kunming of China and Vancouver of Canada, stopping at Shanghai Pudong airport on passage.
Through Kunming Changshui airport, passengers could take a plane to many coastal cities or areas in China, including Hongkong, Macao, and 3 cities of Taiwan, namely Taibei, Gaoxiong, and Taizhong.
Besides Kunming Changshui airport, Lijiang airport and Xishuangbanna airport in Yunnan also have opened some international airliness to foreign cities in the world.
Through Lijiang airport, passengers could fly to Bangkok, Singapore, and Seoul directly. Flights from Lijiang to China's coastal cities including Taibei, Gaoxiong, and Hongkong were also opened.
Through Xishuangbanna airport, passengers could directly take a plane to Luang Prabang of Laos and Hongkong of China.
Some other new international flights that connect Kunming with other foreign cities are also planned to be established. During the Routes Asia 2015 forum, some low-cost airline companies such as Air Asia Airline, Spring Airlines, Hongkong Express Airways, and Tiger-air Taiwan declared that they are planning to launch more new international flights as soon as possible.
Air Asia Airline Company plans to open flights from Kunming to Krabi, Phuket Island, Sabah. Flights from Lijiang to Bangkor and Chiengmai, and flights from Xishuangbanna to Chiengmai are also in schedule. Tiger-air Taiwan Company plans to open flights from Kunming to Taiwan of China. Spring Airlines Company plans to open flights from Kunming to Japan and from Kunming to a city of a South Asian country. Hongkong Express Airways Company plans to open flights from Kunming to Hongkong.
All these planned international flights are scheduled to be set up by the year of 2017.
