Kunming exhibits celebrity portraits to remember history

[InKunming--Kunming]  Kunming Museum in Yunnan province opened a portrait exhibition on March 16, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.

The museum exhibited 125 portraits of cultural celebrities, created by the famous painter, Li Chen. Twenty-seven of the portraits by Li, depicting such artists as Wen Yiduo, Zhu Ziqing, philosopher and educator Jin Yuelin, and architects Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin, were housed in Longquan town.

The exhibition aimed to display the history of Longquan town and the academic institutions that were set up in Kunming during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
