[InKunming--Kunming] The 5th China-ASEAN Industry Cooperation Conference was held on the first day of the 2nd China-South Asia Expo in Kunming, China on June 6. In the conference, Kunming Consensus was achieved by participants, and China-ASEAN Business Association (CABA) was officially set up. Besides, China-ASEAN Logistics Industry Cooperation Committee, China-ASEAN Building Materials Industry Cooperation Committee and China-ASEAN Rosewood and Furniture Industry Cooperation Committee were also established in the meeting.
China-ASEAN Industry Cooperation Conference is an important section of the 2nd China-South Asia Expo, and was sponsored by China-ASEAN Business Council and Kunming municipal government.
Executive director of China-ASEAN Business Council Xu Ningning (许宁宁), deputy mayor of Kunming Ruan Fengbin (阮凤斌), former secretary general of ASEAN secretariat Pushpanntan, secretary general of ASEAN Bankers Association Gwee Choon Guan attended the conference.
China-ASEAN Industry Cooperation Conference has been successfully held for 5 times since the year of 2010. It has provided an efficient platform for industries of China and ASEAN to communicate and cooperate with each other.
China-ASEAN Business Association was officially established in the conference held in Kunming. The conference is a non-profit and non-governmental organization, which provides help and convenience for its members to develop trading and investment in the region.
Participants of the conference also adopted Kunming Consensus yesterday. According to the consensus, China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation has achieved rapid development. China is the largest trade partner of ASEAN, while ASEAN is the third largest trade partner of China. During the past 3 years, ASEAN is the largest destination market of China in terms of overseas investment.
The consensus also noted that China and ASEAN will strive for achieving 1 trillion USD trade target by 2020 and a newly-added 150 billion ESD investment from 2013 to 2020.
