[InKunming--Yunnan] Angmatu Festival(God Walled Festival昂玛节) is a festival of Hani people to worship guardian god of their villages and to pray for a good harvest. The festival has been regarded as one of the grandest and most important festivals of Hani People in Yunnan Province.
The festival usually falls on the mid of first lunar month before spring ploughing of Hani people, and lasts for 3 to 5 days. Ebullient Hani people will dance and sing during the festival as if their happy lives were everlasting.
One of the most wonderful celebrations during the festival is the renowned Hani long street banquet.

Hani people usually start to prepare for the banquet early in the morning, such as cooking foods, arranging tables and washing dishes, etc. The banquet is often made up of over 300 tables, stretching over hundreds of meters, which is quite worthy of its name.
The festival was included into the third batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2010.
To most of people, Angmatu Festival not only represents a feast of ethnic foods, but also shows Hani people’s custom to share happiness and warmth with family members.
